Winterwonderland Grünberg
Sunday morning and it's snowing!
Not unusual and nothing new in the Inner Salzkammergut, well, if there would not be at the same time calendrical beginning of spring. Now you sit at breakfast with child and family and think about what you could do on such a day.
Skiing? The child has no Motivation. Going for a walk? Too boring. The child wants to go on an expedition and play adventurer. So far so good, then the child's wish is granted and we go on a Sunday expedition towards Grünberg peak.
From the valley station of the Grünberg cable car we set off in the direction of the summit. Well equipped with good hiking shoes, snow clothes and hiking sticks, we decided to march up the Ortnersteig to continue towards Mitterweg.
NOTE:Not experienced hikers and families we recommend at this point to choose another hiking route, because the Ortnersteig is very steep and not suitable for all!
In the end, we didn't quite make it to the summit due to all the snow.
And to be quite honest: at the latest when going down, even the child had to admit to himself that even the wildest adventurer would have prefered a gondola ride down instead of walking.
