It's that time of year again when the Grünberg cable car takes a well-earned break and has to undergo its annual "preventive check-up".
The Grünberg cable car transports thousands of guests up the Grünberg in Gmunden every year from March to November. So it only makes sense that this cannot take place without regular technical inspections. This is the only way to ensure that all safety requirements are met.
Grünberg cable car in valley station for inspectionDuring this year's inspection, the so-called revision, not only the mechanical function of the track, the motors, the electronics and the ropes were checked as usual. This year's program also included the 6-year drive overhaul. The gondolas were unhooked in the valley station with the help of a crane so that their running gear could be checked.
Equipped with climbing harnesses and safety equipment, our colleagues were once again highly motivated and fully focused this year. It's a real balancing act that they perform here every year and is truly not for the faint-hearted.
