Family Festival at Grünberg

The family festival at Grünberg on Lake Traunsee showed just how varied a family day out in the Salzkammergut can be. The excitement was palpable even during the cable car ride up to the adventure mountain – with views of Lake Traunsee and the surrounding mountains. Whether with a pushchair, with the grandchildren or with friends: all generations arrived at the mountain in a relaxed mood.

Up on the mountain, a colourful programme awaited children and adults alike. Various games and interactive stations, creative activities and outdoor exercise ensured that the whole day flew by. Whilst the children played and made new friends, the adults could watch, join in or simply enjoy the view.

A highlight for many families was the Grünbergbande adventure trail. The animal heroes led the children from station to station, where there were puzzles to solve and little tasks to complete. This turned a walk with children on the Grünberg into a playful adventure – ideal for anyone who wants to get out and about together without the little ones getting bored.

The summer toboggan run provided an extra adrenaline rush. Many families took the opportunity to enjoy the run together – an experience that will stay in the memories of children and adults alike for a long time to come.

Things went high up on the Salzkammergut Treetop Walk: the wooden walkways above the forest floor and the 39-metre-high observation tower offered an impressive view of Lake Traunsee and the Dachstein. The family festival impressively demonstrated just how well the Grünberg suits as a destination for all generations. The extensive network of paths around the Grünberg, the accessible mountain railway and numerous places to stop for a break made it easy for grandparents, parents and children to enjoy the day together, yet at their own pace.
