Adventure mountain in Gmunden

High above the beautiful town of Gmunden, the Grünberg invites you to experience nature with 20 kilometres of well-developed hiking trails, an idyllic nature reserve, great leisure activities and cosy places to stop for a bite to eat.

Since summer 2024, a new adventure trail awaits you on the Grünberg.

Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run

Fun and action are guaranteed on the Grünberg at the Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run. Over a total length of 1.4 km, you descend part of the mountain and are then pulled back up again with the help of a lift. There is even a photo trap waiting for you in a rapid bend. Get your souvenir photo of the adventurous ride.

Treetop walk Salzkammergut

On the treetop walk Salzkammergut, you can experience unique perspectives high above the forest floor with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Traunsee and Gmunden. Information and adventure stations, the 39 metre high observation tower and the 75 metre long tunnel slide make your visit a special experience.

Adventure playground

The adventure playground on the Grünberg is located right next to the mountain station of the Grünberg cable car, below the viewing platform of the Grünbergalm. Children have plenty of space to play and let off steam here and can look forward to a slide, a large climbing tower, a swing basket, the flying fox and much more.

Low ropes course

Close by the adventure playground, children will find the low ropes course. Balancing skills can be practised at a safe height. The obstacle course consists of 10 different stations where visitors of all ages can let off steam.

Lake Laudachsee

The lake Laudachsee is a popular excursion destination for hikers and is located at 894 metres above sea level. The idyllic mountain lake can be reached on foot from the mountain station in around 1 hour. The path leads along a wide forest road and is also ideal for children and seniors.

Grünberg cable car

The Grünberg cable car takes you comfortably up to 1004 metres to the local recreation area on Lake Traunsee. Even on the ascent with the cable car, you can enjoy the picturesque view of Gmunden, Lake Traunsee and the striking mountain backdrop of the Höllengebirge and the Traunstein, the "guardian of the Salzkammergut".
